100% Engagement

Prepare for success after graduation with an engaged learning experience in environmental science. These internships, classes, and community service opportunities will help you figure out what you want to do and how to tell future employers about your experience.

100% Engagement provides all UA students career readiness opportunities and a transcript notation

At UA, we know that experiences beyond the classroom have an immense impact on your professional and personal growth. We highlight the importance of those experiences with an Engaged Learning Notation on our students' transcripts. When you graduate, this notation tells grad schools and future employers that you have meaningful experience in your chosen field.

While there are seven competency areas, Environmental Science students are often drawn to the sustainability competency. This focus area will give you an understanding of the social, environmental, and economic dimensions of conditions or practices that make society vulnerable and unsustainable over multi-generational time scales.

Connect with an advisor to ask about the UA 100% Engagement Initiative.

With the University of Arizona’s unique approach to career readiness, 92 percent of employers say UA grads have the skills needed to succeed on the job. That’s a 70 percent increase over the national average! According to one national survey, just 23 percent of employers say that recent college graduates are well prepared.

On top of that, nine out of 10 employers rate UA grads as exceeding the quality of their peers. As a result, two-thirds of students graduating in May 2017 have accepted job offers or placement in graduate schools before they've even taken their finals. Equally impressive, 86 percent of all UA graduates, and 90 percent of Arizona residents, have accepted jobs or entered graduate school 90 days out from graduation.
